It is said that the pen is mightier than the sword and these words have never came to live like when reading the history, life and conquest of Ibn Taymiyyah(May Allah be pleased with him).
Such a great man and a treasure to the religion of Islam,a great teacher, predecessor and a fighter.
He was an astute writer, one who used his mind and pen for his religion and against the enemies, his words pierced like that of a sword,he made so much contribution to school of thoughts and shaped how Islam was viewed then and now.
When he fights enemies with words,it hurt so much you will think he killed a Thousand men,but no that is just how powerful he was with the pen.
He refuted those innovators within the religion and fought the enemies of Islam from outside.
He challenged what was wrong and commanded what was good.He was born into an era of mongols,he was fearless, courageous and controversial at that time.
He was never married and dedicated all his life to learning and teaching.his greatest gift to us was the knowledgeable army he raised notably Ibn Qayyim,Ibn Kathir,Az-zahabi and others.
His knowledge was vast ranging from theology, muamalat, shirk, sufism, leadership and politics etc.
Based on his last refute of grave visitation as an act of worship,he was imprisoned, denied access to release fatwas, later his pen and writings materials was taken,he dedicated his last five months to worship and recitation of the Quran.
He died in prison after short illiness,His passing away was indeed a great lost to the umma, Thousand of people gathered in the street.
What a worthy life it is,indeed the success of one's da'awah is the measurement of how steadfast one can remain in the path of Allah, calling to it without drifting away from it.
We send salutations to our Prophet Muhammad (SAW),We pray for Allah's mercy on our rightoues predecessors,we ask for guidance in our path to ultimate victory.....
Ameen
