AFTER MATHS OF 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Do we participate in a politics of good or do we participate in a politics of division- This question hits harder when you off your light at night and decide to he honest with yourself.

Now more than ever,we are 24 years post democracy and one wonders how far have we come or rather how worst has it become.

Election after election and I for one will expect Nigerians to say "we are familiar with your game" to politicians, but now we are still those dancers in the market square, following the drummers that they only know their direction.

One will hope that by now, power belong to my people, but no they say it is,but it isn't.

Turn on the lights now,and let's go a little bais with our thoughts. In bid to overthrow ruling party PDP some years ago,an alliance was made by different parties with different mindset and individuals, but because there was a goal in mind they came together and formed a party APC,lots of interest were subdued, dreams were made, ambition was postponed and the journey to sell one candidate bagan. This candidate intentionally picked has had a certain message and a fanbase unshaking who deliver blog votes but it wasn't enough to win the nation, the Alliance formed gave that candidate the needed couple or more millions to become president.

But it came at a cost, when you emotionally play politics, driven by selfish reason in country like Nigeria where most don't see beyond the fence, the bigger picture is like a hoax,we only see the surface..Then it is easier for you to toll on a line, message people's ego, fuel division and if the majority is on your side, then you have the mandate.

APC showed Nigerians how possible it is to win based on calculative steps in which the formula had religion and tribe as the variable, you make one subject of the formula when appropriate based on the situation and time you find yourself.

And on that premise, several elections were won.for people who postponed their ambitions, people who saw the bigger picture, they plot day and night for when the time is right and fastforward to 2023 same game in a more clever way was played.

Other politicians bought the same memo APC used and deployed it in their campaign, very predictable, low of them, but again you wouldn't blame them,it is the winning template in Nigeria.

Say "Oh I am from your tribe, vote me and get represented" "I am from your religion,if you don't vote me,we might go extinct"

This is the order of the day in our politics.

25th February 2023 stripped the other coated wire and now we are all naked wires, passing through a line, you know what that means right, just like conductivity and electricity,it one touches the other it sparks.

This is to say,we are more divided than we were before, because we taught ourselves to be worst.

Just like a ladder Nigerian citizens are the lowest tire, still not ready to learn the game, though we are. Trying to fix up,but we quickly became the leaders we for so long criticise.

The day we realise that its US vs THEM,its the day we know where to draw lines and say we want this and we want that.

A little shake in the status Quo exposed that if actually we want better we will get better, the mix up in house members, the dismantling of the two horse system, and the voice out of citizens is what is commendable. We should use that elect state governors that will work for us,recall house members that eat and don't work, and present our best foot for presidency henceforth.

That last paragraph was laced with more hope than the beginning of this write up,you wouldn't blame me,we tag an entire region with no exception,we tag an entire religion with no exception, heck we even wish bad on an entire region......but we will get there.

The aftermath of the presidential election has left us more divided than ever, more broken that ever, hopeless than ever....we just cover it with sarcasm, food(for those that can afford) ans laughter.

Strong people yesB!!!old people yes!!! We just need to be better Nigerians in Nigeria

God bless the federal republic of Nigeria..
