COVID-19 PANDEMIC; A FARCE OR REALITY?
Covid-19 a farce or reality? Hmmmn, how do we put this? A deadly virus that surfaced the earth in the year 2019 has become a thing of thought.
This virus widespread across the globe like never seen in recent times has taken a lot of lives, still taking from one region to another.
Now do we call this a farce or a reality? A farce is said to be something dramatic, ridiculous, supposed to be serious but ridiculous while reality on the other hand is the truth that exists.
For Covid-19 pandemic to be said as a farce or reality,based on my perception would put one in a tight position because a lot of personal parameters will have to be put into consideration.
However, standing from this point of view, the covid-19 disease itself is a reality. more often than not different diseases come up in the world, people get infected, die or get cured.it being an airborne and deadly disease with no cure presently is the peculiarity it has.
The whole Pandemic and world reaction to it makes it like a farce, this is so because it’s hard for one to differentiate in this day and time the truth from the false.
But as this junction let me take a side, which is covid-19 is a reality (a sad one though), abruptly in 2019 the world came to a halt, a generation faced with what is have wiped out millions, started in Wuhan, china as a mystery that takes breath away with just a couple of days’ fever, cough and sore throat (oh no!!! for the immunocompromised).
Far from around the world, people watched it on the internet as though it was a china problem, a farced played by them, little did we know it will come to us all.it was isolated and identified as a SARS-2 virus similar to others known before but on a different wave and level.
The world's greatest nations with a perfect blueprint of medical emergencies handling couldn’t even contain it. spread like wildfire, tumbling from countries to countries. Measures put in place the ultimate one was THE LOCKDOWN(a dark reality)who would have known the 21st century humans will be made to stay put at home, isolated from each other, no businesses, zero social life, schools closed, government took a different turn( the “new normal “we call it).let’s not talk about the debilitating health situation and death-fever,cough,sore throat,breathlessness,these are normal symptoms right?no,they are the worst, come in a couple of weeks and play the “may the best immune system win”.
It is a reality because we clearly lived it, still living it, our lives are directly affected, lost loved ones, lost jobs, academic year and crumbled economy that we are seeing now.
Let me dedicate this paragraph to our frontline heroes, thou shall not talk about covid-19 without the healthcare workers, they are superheroes, the defenders of evil which the normal eye cannot see. They saw the reality, disadvantaged the most…calling covid-19 a farce will be an insult to our rested health workers. they couldn’t go back to their families, they became the patient’s families, took care of them without even knowing what they were facing, some got infected along the way. Tribute to the super heroes, it wouldn’t have gotten better without you………. LOVE and LIGHT…
This paragraph might get you a bit confused as to whether I am for a farce or reality. government, hmmn, the people of interest, they took the whole to another level, while some were in confusion others were capitalizing on it, the rest took a dumb stand to deny this reality. I think they are the reason why we are even asking this question. If it’s a farce or reality, governments are pure drama queens. Nevertheless, it got to some of them, took them and even their powers, then the reality became clearer.
It is what it is, clearer than before (to some extent) we have a vaccine now, we are looking for a cure, second and third wave is upon us, it is a reality, but we will get to write and talk about this in a decade to come, whether we were in a farced reality or not, until then covid-19 pandemic is a reality, I hope we come out of it victorious!!!
