"make I do leave Trenches"(A carzy conspiracy)

Yes this is crazy borne out of a funny morning ride to work, rush hours always bring out the madness in Nigerians and it is Fun.

Well i saw an ambulance waiting in traffic and i was 🤔 curious as to why it was waiting knowing that ambulances don't wait on traffic because of emergency. Nope on getting closer to it,i saw that it was school kids filled in it,just like a school bus😂😂 so funny, may their dad is the driver or something i don't know but it was sure funny.

Sorry for the deviation this conspiracy is just out of here.

We know how there is concerted efforts to push the idea of individualism and capitalism, the idea that you should put yourself above everything, everyone and cut of people as soon as possible, that the end justify the means and that all man for himself. Not that putting one's self isn't advisable but we all know that it defeats the purpose of community and life as a whole.

This idea makes us selfish and resolute on doing all sort of things no matter the consequence. We have seen how the west are suffering from this(not that they admit) but the liberalism, the lack of basic family unit and mental instability due to lack of fulfilment.

Yes wealth is good, status and achievements but frankly speaking nothing can give the fulfilment in this life like a connection to good people this means family, friends, loved ones, good neighbors and so on.

But the whole world is now preaching against it directly and indirectly.

Here, the is a popular saying that " I want to leave the trenches" and it has been the slogan, this saying suggest one's effort in succeeding against all odds, this slogan gives the poor and less privilege the fighting spirit and ultimately the story "from grass to grace". Beautiful right?!! It is but i think a higher party is associated with pushing this agenda

I think the same people pushing for individualism are behind this😃.Yes the motivation to change ones situation and do better is the best form of motivation and without doubt we should all strive for that.

But at the long run, looking away from the marginal cost we will realise don't not everyone will move out of the trenches, not everyone will have the chance and opportunity to get the breakthrough and if one person leave per decade or one person gets that breakthrough in that decade it isn't really a win.

Typical example is the Tech blow or Music blow, this happens to very few people and people use that as reference to keep pushing, good but doesn't solve the grassroot problem.

Needless to say we know trenches refers to the lowest livelihood society where even feeding is hard, where basic needs are deprived and so on,but this is a more of a mindset thing, when the hood becomes a lifestyle and a tool for the rich and powerful.

And the goal is to leave this place yes? Yes

But there is a better approach i will say, instead of saying "the music took me out or the Tech took me out of the trenches" let's start looking at "what will the tech do for the trenches or that blow" is it really a victory if one person in 10 years make it out of the hood, yes but no it isn't.

As Nigerians over the past decade we have experienced serious insecurity and this was years of accumulation of bad in our society, few percent go to school, few were able to eat well and a larger percent were left in the "trenches"...When the opportunity came the trenches gave into it and we are all bearing the consequences.

In conclusion what i am trying to say is that we should boast of how to librate a the trenches, make it better and en-masse success rather than an individualized one, with this on roll we will see our society shape into what we have always dreamt of.

Let me chip in that even in Islam the whole idea od brotherhood is to succeed as a society rather than alone..that the aim of calling others to do righteous or be good to your neighbor, praying together is to strengthen the unity and success as a whole.

Yes it is crazy that i think someone is sponsoring that slogan and make us believe it so bad😂(I think so too)

Bottom line is that we can do better.

✌️ peace

Nice piece.
Many people only hope to go as far as they can from the trenches, climb the ladder and achieve highest position possible. But the bottom line especially for someone coming from the trenches isn’t how far they advance themselves but how far they advance others. This is achieved by adding value to their lives.
